Abstract (EN)
In this study, using three different rotation speed (710-900-1120 rpm) and welding speed (31,5, 40, 50, 80 mm / min) 3 mm thick copper and brass plates (copper-copper, copper-brass, and brass- brass) was joined by friction stir welding (FSW). Joining process was performed using vertical head universal milling machine. In order to determine the mechanical properties of welded specimens were carried out tensile, bending and micro-hardness tests. In addition, the welded zones were made investigations of microstructure and surface roughness measurements. According to the results from experiments obtained; copper and copper alloys successfully are joined by FSW. Bending, tensile and micro-hardness values of samples were determined depending on vary weld temperature and the amount of porosity. Surface roughness values were increased in low weld speed and decreased in high weld speed.
