The role of Azerbaijan's energy resources in the energy security of the balkan countries

In the thesis on the importance of energy resources of Azerbaijan in the energy security of the Balkan countries, energy resources and types are mentioned, and energy resources are divided into two as non-renewable and renewable energy resources according to their renewableness. Non-renewable energy sources such as coal, oil and natural gas, renewable energy sources such as hydroelectric, geothermal, biomass, wind and solar energy are mentioned. In addition, the importance of energy security and energy resources in the Balkan countries is mentioned. In this context, regional energy security issues as well as Balkan countries and energy security concerns are discussed within the scope of EU`s energy security. In addition, the energy dynamics and regional energy initiatives in the Balkan countries are also examined in this section. The transition processes to renewable energy sources in the countries of the region are examined and the role of foreign actors such as Russia, Turkey and China in ensuring the energy security of the Balkan countries is mentioned. The study also examines the relationship between Azerbaijan's energy resources and the Balkans, and provides an overview of Azerbaijan's energy reserves such as oil and natural gas. In addition, projects for the export of Azerbaijan's energy resources are mentioned, projects such as the "Contract of the Century", BTC, BTE are discussed. At the end of the chapter, the role of Azerbaijan in the energy security of the countries of the region is examined and projects such as TANAP and TAP are mentioned. In addition, the advantages of Azerbaijan-Turkey Cooperation in the Balkan energy market are analyzed. The aim of the study is to reveal how Azerbaijan's energy resources are delivered to Europe through Azerbaijan-Turkey cooperation and how important this is for the geopolitical situation and energy security of the whole Europe, especially the Balkan countries.
