Abstract (EN)

In this study, Picea (Picea orientalis (L.)Link) wood was impregnated according to ASTM 1413-76 standard with the concentration of three different solution concentrations(1%,3%,5%) prepared from barite and boron compounds and changes in some physical-mechanical properties were investigated. Capability of Its use in furniture industry (outdoor) was specified by determining its total retention, % retention, whole air dried specific weight value, bending resistance, elasticity module in bending, pressure resistance, adhesion resistance, and some physical properties. According to experimental results; while the highest air dried specific weight value was observed in Barite+Ba (0.80 g/cm3), whole air dried specific weight value was observed in Barite+Ba (0.98 g/cm3); among mechanical properties, the highest bending resistance was obtained in Barite+Ba (100 N/mm2), elasticity module in bending in Barite+Bx (55 N/mm2), pressure resistance in Barite+Ba (65 N/rmm2), and adhesion resistance in Barite+Bx (8.47 N/mm2); and the highest intake rate was observed in Bx at 121.9% concentration.
