Abstract (EN)
Intertextuality is considered a study of rewriting. Theorists define intertextuality as the relationship of the former texts with the actual text. According to researchers, there is nothing left to write. Authors are influenced by the works of the old period and come up with new literary works. Throughout the years, people have tried to fullfil their need of communication through different ways. One of these ways of communication has become music. Since music composed of a variety of texts, it is possible to examine the songs in terms of intertextuality. In this regard, it is adequate to examine the songs of one of the important singers of Turkish music: Barış Manço. As a singer who values Turkish culture, Barış Manco reflects Turkish into his works. Barış Manço who has been considered as a modern poet, reflected the old Turkish tradition to his songs. The aim of this study is to identify songs of Barış Manço with regards to divan literature and folk literature and the aspects of these songs in terms of intertextuality.
