Abstract (EN)
With global warming, rapid population growth and parallel industrial facilities, freshwater resources are rapidly depleting. For this reason, in order to ensure the protection and effective use of underground and surface water resources potential, efforts to prevent water pollution which continues to increase day by day have been applied. In the industrial wastewaters that constitute water pollution, textile, leather, cosmetic wastewater, containing harmful chemicals and staining materials lead to continuous researches on these wastes. For this purpose, a cheap and widely used adsorption method for the removal of Basic Yellow 28 (BY28) reactive textile dye on a red clay which is a new, cheap, natural and smectite-weighted adsorbent; has been applied. In this study the most important parameters affecting the removal of BY28 like; equilibrium time, initial solution concentration, pH, the amount of adsorbent and the effects of temperature were investigated and discussed. Adsorption isotherm models, adsorption kinetics and adsorption thermodynamics have been investigated by using these data. From the results obtained, it has been found that adsorption of BY28 on red clay is compatible with Langmuir isotherm and pseudo second order kinetic model. It has also been discovered that the adsorption process is an endothermic and spontaneous event. By using the parameters such as isotherm, kinetic and thermodynamic data, in this study, it would possibly mentioned that natural red clay can be used as a very effective and cheap adsorbent for the removal of BY28 industrial waste.
