Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out in order to assess whether levels of "others centered externality" and "Allah Centeredness" predict the level of getting affected by gossip about one's self in university students. "The Others Centered Externality Scale", "Scale of Allah Centeredness" and "Reactions Subscale of The Gossip and Rumor Attitude Scale" were used as the data collection tools. Our research findings show that both Allah Centeredness and others centered externality have a positive relationship with the level of getting affected by gossip about one's self, where others centered externality has a greater power in predicting getting affected by gossip. It was found that the level of getting affected by gossip varied with variables such as Allah centeredness, others centered externality, gender, attitude towards gossip, personal perception of religiosity and fulfillment of religious duties.
