The participation of Baskent University students in social responsibility projects

In this study, the status of participation in social responsibility projects of Başkent University studying in the field of social sciences was examined. In this context, 213 students from the related departments were included in the study. Within the sample there are Faculty of Communication, Faculty of Health Science, Science and Literature, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences. According to the data obtained in the study, 38.0% of students stated that they spend 1-2 hours a week on social responsibility activities, while 23.9% stated that they do not spend any time on social responsibility activities. 48.15% of the participants who stated that they spend time in social responsibility activities for 1-2 hours per week studying in Faculty of Science and Literature. 39.51% of those who stated that they spend 1-2 hours per week in social responsibility activities are in 4th grade while 27.16% are 3rd grade students. Women stated that they devote more time to social responsibility activities than men. 62.96% of those who stated that they devote time to social responsibility activities 1- 2 hours per week are in the 21-23 age group. 60.98% of the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences stated that they have previously participated in social responsibility projects. The highest level of participation in social responsibility projects is among those who study in Social Work. 62.5% of those who stated that they are studying in the social work department stated that they had previously taken part in the social responsibility project. Nine of those who were educated in Social Work department stated that they produced projects before. 55% (22 people) of those who are studying in Social Work stated that they contributed both financially and morally to social responsibility projects. 42% (17 people) of the student in Social Work Department stated that they are members of the university student groups. When the social responsibility projects of Başkent University were examined, it was seen that the students of Social Work Department (57.50%) came to the forefront.
