The effect of core exercise on nerve conduction velocity in young basketball players

Abstract (EN)
Aim of this study was to determine effect of core exercise on nerve conduction velocity in young basketball players. Participants were 10 young U18 basketball players whose average age was 18.4±0.78 years, average height was 191.6±8.65 cm and average weight was 80.9±10.15 kg. They took 8 weeks core exercise intervention three times a week. EMG test was applied before and after intervention. Descriptive statistic and repeated measure MANOVA were used for statistical calculations. Results showed that there were no significant differences on wrist, elbow and axilla of dominant and nondominant hands according to pre and post test EMG values. As a conclusion, it was determined that 8 weeks core exercise intervention had no statistically significant differences neither dominant and nor nondominant hand nerve conduction velocity values in young basketball players.
