Abstract (EN)
In today's world, Instagram has become an indispensable element of society in every field such as communication, shopping and entertainment. Instagram can present an almost infinite number of different lifestyles to individuals through visuals. In addition, it is an important leisure time tool by including many elements such as creating a positive environment through filters, presenting life by consuming as enjoyable, it can put the individual into the cycle of pleasure and self-change, and is an important tool of the culture industry that serves the cycle of pleasure and enjoyment. The fact that the mass media, which is one of the important formation sources of culture, started to show activity through Instagram, transforms the culture and also affects the values of religion, which is a system of beliefs and symbols that are in constant interaction with culture. The phenomenon of religion and its values, which are one of the important parts of identity, are transferred to Instagram through religious identities, so values are reshaped within the culture industry. The aim of this study is to discuss the problem of reifying Instagram's values with the concept of culture industry from a critical perspective, through hijabi women identities who have earned a reputation in their religious identities. The relationship between the concepts of privacy, hijab, vanity, and conspicuous consumption, which are determined as values in the study, with Instagram is questioned by the interview method and evaluated in the light of the concept of the culture industry.
