Abstract (EN)
Keeping fossil fuel consumption at low levels is vital due to increasing environmental issues. In this context, electrical systems have become increasingly important, especially in the automotive industry. The use of batteries is widespread, from large-scale systems to small-sized portable electronic devices. However, developments in battery and energy storage systems have highlighted application-dependent energy management configurations. Today, besides Li-ion batteries with high energy density, hybrid use of supercapacitors with high power density is among the critical research areas. Supercapacitors, which act as buffers to prolong the life of the batteries, are very suitable for military purposes. Supercapacitors are the most suitable energy storage devices that can operate at low temperatures and meet the need in situations where there is no charging opportunity or there is not enough time for charging. Within the scope of this thesis, a battery management system for hybrid use in supercapacitor and Li-ion batteries was developed using a programmable SoC. PSoC provides significant gains in battery management, especially since it contains many analog interfaces. In the experimental studies, controlled charge-discharge of the supercapacitor and three Li-ion batteries was made, and the charge-discharge rate between the batteries could be maintained. The developed software and hardware allow use in different energy storage systems.
