Determining the factors that prevent administrators working in schools affiliated with Batman Provincial Directorate of National Education from participating in physical activity.

The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the factors that prevent the participation of school administrators working in schools affiliated with the Batman Provincial Directorate of National Education in physical activity and variables such as gender, age, marital status, spouse's employment status, number of children, level of education, active physical activity status, number of days of physical activity per week, hours of physical activity per day, duration of administration, income status, subject areas, and type of institution worked in. The sample group of the study consisted of 423 school administrators working in kindergartens, primary schools, secondary schools and high schools in Batman city center. In our study, participants applied the Physical Activity Barriers Scale, developed by Suraya et al. in Malaysia and whose Turkish validity and reliability were made by Yurtçiçek et al., to evaluate the physical activity barriers they perceived. High scores obtained from the scale mean that there are many physical activity barriers. The type of barrier is commented on according to the total score of the sub-dimensions. SPSS program was used for statistical analysis of the data obtained at the end of the study. In the analysis of the data; it was presented as arithmetic mean and standard deviation. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was applied for normality test; Levene test was applied for homogeneity test. Skewness and kurtosis values were checked for data sets that did not show normal distribution and data sets with a value of ±2 were accepted to show normal distribution. Independent samples t-test was applied for pairwise comparisons between groups, and one way analysis of variance (One way ANOVA) was applied for more than two comparisons. Tukey correction test was used to determine which variable the difference was in. Pearson correlation was applied to determine the correlation between the subdimensions of the scale. Statistical results were evaluated at p<0.05 significance levels. No significant difference was found in the physical environment sub-dimension according to the gender variable, age, marital status, spouse's employment status, number of children, active sports, number of days of sports done per week, hours of sports done per day, managerial tenure and income status variables (p>0.05). As a result, there are statistically significant differences in the participation of teachers who work as administrators in physical activity in schools according to variables such as gender, age, marital status, spouse's employment status, number of children, active physical activity status, number of days of physical activity per week, number of days of physical activity per day, hours of physical activity per day, duration of administration, income status and type of institution worked.
