Knowledge levels of Batman province 112 Emergency Healthcare Employees on disaster awareness

Throughout the history of the world, disasters have been one of the biggest problems faced by mankind in every period. With the effect of the developing world and increasing population, more and more disaster types have emerged and their damaging effects have increased. Post-disaster effects cause serious physical, mental and economic losses in the society. Disaster; They are situations that cause economic, social and physical losses, and affect societies by interrupting or stopping daily life and daily activities. Disasters are events that cannot be overcome by the society they affect. Disaster management determines the technical studies and related laws that should be done before, during and after the disaster in order to reduce the damages and prevent the disasters. Emergency health personnel in the disaster management system have important duties. It is of great importance for health personnel to be conscious of disaster, disaster awareness and disaster management. For this reason, it will be revealed by the study whether the health personnel have sufficient knowledge about disaster awareness. In the study, the knowledge levels, attitudes and behaviors of the health personnel working in Batman 112 Emergency Health Services were examined. IBM SPSS 25.0 statistical package program was used for analysis.When the data is analyzed, when the data were examined, it was seen that 6.9% of the participants were 25 years old and under, 49.4% were in the 26-35 age group. It was determined that 10.9% of the participants were high school, 37.4% associate degree, 24.1% undergraduate, 19% undergraduate completion and 8.6% postgraduate education. 43.7% of the participants are male and 56.3% are female. A large proportion of the participants were emergency medical technicians (55.7%) and emergency care ambulance technicians (20.1%). It was seen that 13.2% of the participants had 1-5 years, 32.2% 6-10 years and 21.8% 16 years or more professional experience. (39.3%) of the participants consider the state responsible for taking pre-disaster measures. Participants (39.3%) consider the state responsible for taking predisaster measures. Although the participants thought that disaster drills should be effective and educational (56.9%), it was stated that the disaster drills held in the institution were insufficient (37.4%).
