Investigations on spreading of European Otter, (lutra lutra linnaeus, 1758), in Batman province

In this study, researches was conducted on European Otters (Lutra Lutra, Linnaeus, 1758), which are important in terms of wildlife and biological diversity that spread in Batman province between October 2018 and August 2020. Field studies were carried out using direct and indirect observation methods in the Tigris and its tributary Batman, Sason, Han, Garzan and Pisiyar streams, and dams and ponds at certain periods in every season. In the field studies, the presence of otters was tried to be determined by surveillance, video camera, binoculars and photography studies. As a result of the field studies, the footprints of the otter, their feces, the entrance to the nest, and the photo trap images were obtained in six of the predetermined 24 location.
