Abstract (EN)
Entrepreneurship has started to be seen as the key welfare issue in societies due to its contribution it has made to a country's economies in recent years. Entrepreneurship moreover represents a significant economic growth and development. Therefore, entrepreneurship is encouraged by governments as well as the business world. The emphasis on entrepreneurship has been increasing in Turkey just like in other countries. With this increasing importance in recent years, the concept of entrepreneurship has been frequently included in the management literature. Entrepreneurship can emerge at an individual and organizational level. In addition, the concept of 'entrepreneurship orientation' has been used to define and measure entrepreneurship at the strategic and organizational level. When the literature on entrepreneurship orientation is examined, it is seen that it has been researched with great interest by the management researchers. In addition, it is seen that the studies on entrepreneurship orientation concentrate on the relationship between entrepreneurship orientation and business performance. Indeed, entrepreneurship orientation is considered as the key component of organizational success. However, it remains unclear how the businesses in the tourism industry improve their entrepreneurial orientation and how this affects their performance. In this context, the aim of the thesis is to reveal the effect of entrepreneurship orientation (innovation, pro-activeness and risk taking) of the food and beverage companies on their performance operating in the province of batman, Turkey. The targeted population of this research is the managers / owners of 166 restaurant and cafeteria companies in Batman. A total of 145 valid questionnaires were obtained from business managers/ owners. Each survey was obtained from only 1 business. These data which obtained was evaluated by conducting factor analysis (AFA), reliability and regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, it has been determined that the proactiveness and innovation dimension of entrepreneurship orientation significantly and positively affects the financial performance of the business, but the risk taking dimension does not show a significant effect. Again, as a result of the analysis, it was determined that dimensions of entrepreneurship orientation (proactiveness, innovativeness and risk taking) did not have a significant effect on the non-financial performance of the business.
