Evalution of Batman province in terms of outdoor cultural recreation tourism potential

The aim of this Ms study is to evaluate Batman province- which is located in the South East Anatolia of the Republic of Turkey,has been home to many civilizitaions througout the history and an important tourist destination with its natural beauties-in terms of cultural Recreation potential. Recreation activities are classifies in various ways depending on time,space and many different features. The local activities'- within the scope of recreation tourism- contribution to the promotion, economy and development of the region is increasing. Areas with natural and historical environmental values and socio-cultural characteristics, generate ambit providing potentiality for turism and recreational activities. Depending on the attractiveness of such environments, tourism and recreation activities develops and uses the natural and cultural environment. Therefore , in terms of evaluating development of outdoor cultural tourism potential of Batman province, potential recreational activities in the region, local activities, natural and artificial cultural supply resources and attractiveness researches are included in this study. Also,in the study,the SWOT concerning the analysis of the tourism potential of the outdoor cultural recreation activities and areas of Batman province is examined.Batman province's current outdoor cultural recreation activities and areas current situation is revealed With in the framework of touristic product characteristics, the tourism potential is taken into consideration and its strengths and weaknesses, opportunities and threats are examined.
