An investigation into the problems of women entrepreneurship in Batman

The concept of entrepreneurship, which is the rising trend of the 21st century, is defined as the activity of the person taking the risk and introducing a product to the market. In this process, the importance of entrepreneurship activities has increased with the fact that the industrial society has begun to replace the information society. In this process, it is known that entrepreneurship plays an important role in economic development for developing countries as well as for developed countries. The increasing influence of women in social life and economic activities has resulted in women finding a place for themselves in entrepreneurship activities. Also located in the province of Batman in the southeast part of Turkey, women's economic life have become increasingly active, it is effective in carrying out studies on female entrepreneurship in this province. In this study, it is aimed to determine the factors affecting the success of women entrepreneurs, to identify the problems they encounter and to produce solutions for these problems. For this purpose, women engaged in entrepreneurship activities in Batman constitute the scope of the research. Questionnaire method was used in quantitative research techniques. The survey results, which consist of nine main sections and applied to 126 people, were analyzed with SPSS v.21 software. The findings indicate that half of the entrepreneurial women in the province are active in the service sector; The main problem was finding economic support. It is hoped that the research findings will contribute to the policy production to overcome the problems of the region and women entrepreneurs.
