Abstract (EN)
SUMMARYEvaluation of the effects of early ambulation on functions of intestine inpatients who had been operated on abdomen. The inactivity, anesthesia and analjesics in the period of recovering and duringthe operation can cause the complications to improve after the operation. Ambulationis means of walking, especially the patient walked after surgery. Early ambulation;procedure charectize by a shorter period of hospitalization or by more rapidmobilization than is normally practised. This research aims to evaluate the effects of early ambulation on functions ofintestine in patients who had been operated on abdomen during the post operationalperiod. The study was planned as a definition one.The sample group of the study is consist of 106 elective surgery patients whohad been come to General Surgery and Woman and Birth Clinics of Denizli StateHospital and Pamukkale University Research Hospital. The patients who had beenapplied laparoscopic cholecystectomy (n=50) and cesarean (n=56) had beenincluded in the sample group. The data had been collected by poll between March2004 and April 2005. By the poll form, socio demographic properties of the patientswere determined; it had been examined that there had been a relation between thestaying time in the hospital and intestinal functions in the first 24 hours afteroperation, early ambulation.SPSS Version (Statistical Package for Social Scientists) program was used forevaluation of the data. The data were evaluated by percentage, chi squareimportance test and correlation analyses.According to the findings in this study, it was determined that intestinalfunctions had been normalized more quickly in the patients who had got out of bedearly after operation and ambulation frequency had been effective on breaking windand defecation. And it was determined that staying time in hospital of the patientswhose earl ambulation had been achieved was shorter. In addition to this, we can saythat in our studies, the nurses have an important role in acknowledging the patients oearly recovering, supportig and supplying ambulations many times after operations. Keywords: Abdomen operations, early ambulation, intestinal functions.PDF created with pdfFactory trial version www.pdffactory.com
