Abstract (EN)

French thinker Jean Baudrillard, in most of his work, aimed at explaining the nature of capitalism as well as the contribution made by the media for the sake of perpetuity of the system. For him, the present system rederives the phenomenon of reality, by depriving it of an origin, especially in the subjects such as consumption, culture, war, and art, through the models, and he redefines that deprived phenomenon as a hyper-reality. The media and mass media appear to have a great responsibility as for that purpose and be the most influenced by this transformation. What this study seeks is to understand the motives of the audience of digital war-journalism applications and the way they use them as well as to analyze the effects of such applications on the audience's approach to the war in the context of Baudrillard's mass media theory. Accordingly, the transformation that the phenomenon of war and war journalism underwent through the historical process, along with the concepts put forth by Baudrillard regarding communication and mass media, will be investigated in the chapter literature. In the chapter devoted to research, evidence elicited from the sample audience will be construed in line with Baudrillard's concepts. The audience that regularly follows the war-journalism application LiveUAmap constitutes the sample. The study adopts the ethnographic methodology by preference.
