Abstract (EN)
As the main focus of the research, The Bayat River Basin is located in the northeast of Afyonkarahisar province and in the south of Eskişehir province. The basin, which is completely within the borders of Afyonkarahisar province and has an area of approximately 596 km2, covers different areas within the borders of 4 districts. The mean elevation of the basin is 1235 meters and the perimeter length is 194.4 km. The basin has 5 sub-basins, ranging in size from 58 to 172 km2. In this research, different Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software and plug-ins have been used to evaluate the geomorphological and geomorphology-related features of the Bayat River Basin. While ArcGIS 10.8 software has been preferred for basic mapping and digitization operations, Saga GIS 8.3.0 software has been used together with ArcGIS 10.8 for the production of Red Relief Image Map. In determining the basin and sub-basin boundaries, ArcSWAT software has been integrated into ArcGIS 10.3.1 software and used. As a result of the analysis of the data obtained as a result of these analyzes, maps of the research area and various area calculations were made, and these were used in the interpretation of fluvial, volcanic and other structural geomorphological features. There are different geomorphological units in the basin. Among them, the most interesting ones are the formations that developed on volcanic units. There are also geomorphological units such as volcanic extrusion centers, volcanic structural plateaus, mountainous areas, plateau areas, valleys opened on ignimbirits, fairy chimneys, "V" valleys, plains. The basin consists of metamorphic, sedimentary rocks of different ages from Precambrian to Quaternary. More volcanic activities predominantly played a role in the development of the site, which was not very tectonically less active. The products of this Miocene-aged volcanic activity are mostly located in the west, south and central parts of the basin. The most important geomorphological problems of the field; erosion, drought caused by lack of water and precipitation, overgrazing and improper land use. Volcanic landforms (such as fairy chimneys, Kırgıbayır topography areas) that can be valuable in the field of tourism are an important wealth. The passing of the Afyon-Ankara highway along the long axis of the basin is important for the development of the region.
