Abstract (EN)

Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) is an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the family Poaceae. Wheat is one of the most important agricultural products with the highest production both in our country and in the world. Because it can be grown in almost any climatic and soil conditions, it is widely produced in our country (Turkey) and regions around the world. The Siese wheat (Triticum monococcus), which is considered the ancestor of modern wheat, is a rare plant species that has preserved its genetic structure to the present day. The wheat plant, like all other plants, is inevitably exposed to various biotic and abiotic stresses throughout its life cycle. Drought is among the most important abiotic stresses that Decisively restrict wheat yields. At the same time, drought is perhaps the most important abiotic stress factor, the impact of which has been increasingly felt in recent years. Drought stress can occur very early in the plant's life cycle, such as seed germination. The reactions of wheat germ to different stress factors during the germination process are still being studied. In addition to the studies conducted on this subject in October, this study was conducted to provide new information to the literature. PEG (polyethylene glycol) 6000 was used to simulate the drought environment in the study. Nitrogen fertilizer solutions at 50, 100, 200, 400, 600 ppm levels were applied to monitor the fertilizer effect under drought conditions. Kavılca varieties, which are the local wheat of Eminbey and Kars grown in our country, were used as the experimental material of the research. When the current study findings were examined, it was found that the kars siyez (Kavılca) wheat variety showed higher tolerance than the Eminbey variety recorded in the face of drought conditions. In addition, it has been determined that nitrogen fertilizer application has the property of increasing tolerance to drought stress.
