An investigation about avifauna of Köroğlu mountains according to some ecological and orographic variables

This thesis study was carried out at selected stations in the part of the Köroğlu Mountains Important Nature Area within the borders of Bolu, and it was aimed to reveal the bird diversity of the area. Field studies were carried out between March 2018 and January 2020. Within the scope of the thesis study, a total of 45 field studies were carried out and as a result, a total of 165 bird species belonging to 42 families and 1 subspecies were identified in the Köroğlu Mountains. In the area, 81 locals, 49 immigrants, 19 transit migrants, 8 winter visitors, 2 guests and 1 summer visitor were identified. In this study, within the scope of Köroğlu Mountains avifauna, it was tried to determine the species richness and species diversity values, as well as to determine the distribution of bird species according to orographic variables such as height, stand type, habitat type. The distribution and diversity of bird species in the research area were investigated within and between communities and between different altitude gradients at different selected stations. In the thesis study, alpha, beta and gamma diversity were determined within the scope of avifauna. Shannon and Simpson diversity indices were used, species abundance distribution, frequency and dominance were presented, and similarity analyzes between communities were made.
