Determinaton of some flavonoids' antioxidant capacity and investigation of their effects on acetycholinesterase and carbonic anhydrase izoenzymes

In the present study, some flavonoids such as morin and rutin were evaluated for possible antioxidant and radical scavenging activity. It is aimed in this study to design new affinity gel for bovine liver carbonic anhydrase II different from which have been used so far. Cellulose has been used as matrix, benzoilchloride as spacer arm and sulfonamide as ligand. Also the inhibitory effects of these flavonoids acetycholinesterase and cattle liver carbonic anhydrase izoenzyme II were investigated. In order to evaluate radical scavenging activity of flavonoids, hydrogen peroxide activity is studied. Also quercetin is used as referance antioxidant since its flavonoid structure. The flavonoids which are used in this study exposed high antioxidant activity.
