Abstract (EN)

In the present study, toothcarp, Aphanius danfordii Boulenger 1895, vimba, Vimba vimba tenella Nordmann, 1840, golden grey mullet, Liza aurata Risso 1810, sand smelt, tenella Linneaus, 1810, Altınbaş kefal balığı, Liza aurata Risso,1810, Gümüş balığı, Atherina boyeri Risso, 1810 and round goby, Neogobius melanostomus Pallas,1811 were investigated for 1 month (11 October ? 11November 2006). A total of 300 fish specimens, 60 for each fish species, was investigated for ectoparasites.Fish were collected by fishing net and transported alive to the Fisheries Faculty Biology Parasitology Laboratory. Fish weigth and length were recorded. Infection prevalence (%) and mean intensity values were determined for each parasite species. Skin, gills and fins of fish were examined macroscopically at first and then microscopically using a light microscope.At the end of parasitological investigation, 3 genera belonging to Phylum Ciliophora, 3 genera belonging to Phylum Platyhelminthes and 1 genera belonging to Phylum Arthropoda, a total of 7 genera, were determined.
