Determinaton of yield and yield components of some common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) genotypes under Bingol conditions

This study was conducted in order to determinate some yield and yield components of some common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) genotypes under Çevirme village of Genç town of Bingöl city in 2017 growing season. The experiment was arranged in randomized complete block design with three replications with 10 common bean genotypes (6 commercial cultivars and 4 local populations). Data were collected on some agronomic and morphological characteristics such as, number of plant in square meters, plant height, number of main brunch, number of pod in a plant, number of grain in a plant, grain yield in a plant, 100 grain weight, biological yield, harvest index, time of emergence, time of flowering and vegetation period. The characteristics observed in our study varied among 10.88-15.00 number in plant density, 43.52-95.07 cm in plant height, 8.62-16.45 cm in first pod height, 1.82-2.05 number in number of main brunch, 13.97-26.52 number in pod number in a plant, 42.00-100.30 number in grain number in a plant, 20.50-32.65 g in grain yield per a plant, 28.17-49.48 g in 100 grain weight, 459.85-612.10 kg/da in biological yield, 183.68-326.33 kg/da in grain yield, 27.75-47.68 % in harvest index, 10.25-12.75 days in time of emergence, 34.00-37.50 days in time of flowering and 81.00-95.50 days in vegetation period. As a result; the highest yielding cultivar Kantar-05 with yield of 326.33 kg/da among the genotypes used in the study had 14.88 number of plant in a square meters, 86.55 cm of plant height, 8.62 cm of first pod height, 1.82 number of main brunch, 17.90 number of pod per plant, 79.70 number of grain in a plant, 32.65 g of plant yield, 40.28 g of 100 grain weight, 607.05 kg/da of biological yield, 326.33 kg/da of grain yield, 47.68 % of harvest index, 10.25 days of emergence time, 34.00 days of flowering time and 82.25 days of vegetation period.
