Abstract (EN)

According to World Health Organization 18.1 million people were diagnosed with cancer in 2018 and 9.9 million people died because of it. Evolutionary theories are very critical to be able to understand the occurrence, development and types of cancer as well as developing effective treatments at cellular levels. Although animals have developed strong tumor suppressor mechanisms to decrease cancer cells population in the evolutionary process to prevent cancer development, they were not sufficient in combating cancer spontaneously since tumors can also develop resistant mechanisms. Nowadays with cancer evolving, the need for less toxic and more anticancer effective drugs and agents is constantly increasing. In many studies chalcones have been reported to have many useful properties including anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antifungal, antioxidant, cytotoxic, antitumor and anti-cancer activities. In this study, the cytotoxic effects of chalcone derivatives synthesized for the first time in MCF-7 (ER +), MDA-MB-231 (ER-) breast cancer cell lines and NIH / 3T3, L-929 healthy cell lines well be investigated. Furthermore the anticancer effect of compounds will be investigated by following apoptosis pathway using flow cytometry and measuring apoptotic genes expression using RT-PCR. E-screen test will also be performed to asses our compound's estrogenicity. After all, the binding sites of the compounds to estrogen reseptor are shown by molecular docking.
