Abstract (EN)
Among heterocyclic compounds, quinoline derivatives are used in many fields and have a wide range of biological activities. Quinoline derivatives have become an important structural motif for the development of new drugs. In this thesis, it is aimed to synthesize 2-amino-4-(alkoxy)quinoline-3-carbonitrile derivatives with a new method and to investigate the physical and chemical properties of the synthesized compounds with computer aided chemical calculations. In the first stage of the thesis, 6 unique compounds (S1-S6) were obtained by reacting some alcohols with N-(2-aminobenzoyl) benzotriazole. The structures of the synthesized compounds were elucidated by 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR spectroscopic analysis methods. In the next stage of the study, the quantum chemical calculations of the synthesized compounds were carried out by applying the Density Functional Theory (DFT), B3LYP 6-31G(d,p) method. From the calculations, chemical shifts of 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR, UV-GB spectroscopic properties, HOMO-LUMO energies were obtained and these data were compared with experimental data. In addition, the calculated HOMO-LUMO energy ranges and LUMO energy levels of the synthesized compounds gave important information about the biological activity potentials of the S1-S6 compounds.
