Abstract (EN)

Recently, a significant increase in fungal infections all over the world have been observed. Antifungal therapy is a problem that requires the long-time use of drugs. The development of resistance to drugs used in the treatment is one of the most important problems. Increased incidence of fungal infections to treat these infections have increased the need for new drugs. Imidazole ring system is often preferred by medicinal chemists in new drug development studies due to its potential antifungal effect. Thus, in the present study synthesis of some new imidazole derivatives and investigation of their antifungal effects were purposed. In this study 2-substitutedthiocarbonylthio-N-[4-((1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl) phenyl]-acetamide derivatives were prepared by the reaction of 2-Chloro-N-[4-((1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl)phenyl]acetamide, prepared in laboratory conditions, and dithiocarbamate salts. Structures of these compounds were elucidated by IR and 1H-NMR spectroscopic methods and elementary analysis results. Antifungal activity of synthesized compounds was sceenned using Candida species. Ketoconazole is used as the standard antifungal agent. As aresult of microbiological studies It has been determined that synthesized compounds possess moderate antifungal activity. Key Words:, imidazol, dithiocarbamate, infection, antifungal activity
