Abstract (EN)

Sulfonamide derivatives; It constitutes an important class of drugs with many pharmacological effects such as anti-bacterial, anti-viral, anti-thyroid, diuretic and anti-tumor. In addition, sulfonamides are the best known inhibitors of the carbonic anhydrase enzyme, which is currently used in clinical medicine for the treatment of glaucoma. Quinazoline derivatives, on the other hand, have become the focus of attention in recent years due to their biological activity in a wide spectrum such as anti-depressant, analgesic, anti-fungal, anti-microbial and anti-inflammatory. In this study, the synthesis and characterization of heterocyclic compounds containing both quinazoline and sulfonamide groups were aimed. For this purpose, 5-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-sulfonamide compound, which is used as a starting material, was prepared from a drug called Diazomid, whose active ingredient is acetazolamide. New quinazoline-sulfonamide derivatives were obtained as a result of multicomponent cyclization reactions of this compound with various substituted benzaldehydes and 1,3-cyclohexanedione derivatives by microwave synthesis method. Various catalysts were tried in the reactions, the catalyst with the highest yield was determined and the reaction conditions were optimized. The structures of all synthesized compounds were confirmed by FTIR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR and Mass Spectroscopy methods. This research has been supported by Kütahya Dumlupınar University Scientific Research Projects Coordination Office under grant number 2020-03.
