Synthesis of some new n-acyl benzotriazole Pd(II), Rh(I) ve Ru(III) complexes and investigation of hydrogenation activities in ionic liquid media

Abstract (EN)

In this study, new complex molecules were synthesized and characterised which can be used as catalysts in one of the new generation reaction media known as ionic liquid. Thiophene and furan substitued bis (N-acyl benzotriazole) ligants and their six new Pd(II), Rh(I) and Ru(III) compounds were synthesized; ([Pd(Bt-tiyo-Bt)(OAc)2], [Pd(Bt-fur-Bt)(OAc)2], [Rh(Bt-tiyo-Bt)(COD)]Cl, [Rh(Bt-fur-Bt)(COD)]Cl, [Ru(Bt-tiyo-Bt)(H2O)Cl3], [Ru(Bt-fur-Bt)(H2O)Cl3]). Catalytic activities of synthesized complexes were investigated on hydrogenation of styrene, 1-octene and cyclohexene hydrogenation in [bmim][BF4]. Effect of different parametres such as temperature, solvent, H2 pressure, catalyst amount and catalyst reuseability were also investigated. Under the same reaction conditions, [Pd(Bt-tiyo-Bt)(OAc)2] and [Pd(Bt-fur-Bt)(OAc)2] complexes more active than other four complexes including rodium and ruthenium metal. Obtained results showed that catalysts more effective on styrene and 1-octene hydrogenation than cyclohexene hydrogenation and catalysts can be used at least five cycle without significant loss of their activities.
