Abstract (EN)
In medicinal chemistry, thiazoline derivatives bearing hydrazone moiety have gained great importance in antimicrobial drug design and development. In this study, new thiazoline derivatives bearing hydrazone moiety were synthesized and the antimicrobial effects of these derivatives were investigated.N'-(3,4-Diarylthiazol-2(3H)-iliden)-2-(arylthio)acetohydrazide derivatives were obtained by the reaction of 1-(arylthioacetyl)-4-aryl thiosemicarbazides with 2-bromoacetophenone derivatives. The structures of these compounds were elucidated by IR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, MS spectra and elemental analysis. The synthesized compounds were evaluated for their antimicrobial activities against S. aureus, L. monocytogenes, E. coli, P. aeruginosa, M. luteus, B. subtilis, A. parasiticus, P. chrysogenum, T. harzianum, A. ochraceus, F. solani, F. moniliforme, F. culmorum and C. albicans.Antibacterial activity studies revealed that compounds B-5, B-22 and B-40 were as effective as streptomycin against P. aeruginosa. All compounds exhibited significant antifungal activity against T. harzianum, A. ochraceus, F. solani, F. moniliforme, F. culmorum and C. albicans.
