Özet (EN)
This study was conducted to evaluate the psychometric properties in Turkish of the Paternal Involvement With Infant Scale. The research was methodological, and its sample consisted of 352 fathers with infants aged 0-12 months who were admitted to the pediatrics clinics and polyclinics of Gaziantep Abdülkadir Yüksel State Hospital and Gaziantep City Hospital. The study data were collected between February 2025 and April 2025 using the "Socio-demographic Information Form" and the "Paternal Involvement in Infancy Scale". Factor analysis, correlation analysis, t-test, and Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient methods were used in the analysis of the data. The KMO coefficient of the scale was found to be 0,851, the Bartlett test x2 value was 2431,090, and p<0,001. As a result of the factor analyses, the scale consisted of 20 items with 5 sub-dimensions, explaining 52,004% of the total variance. The Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the scale was 0,879, and for the sub-dimensions of the scale, it was calculated as 0,768 for " Warmth and Harmony", 0,804 for " Control and Process Responsibility," 0,823 for "Frustration," 0,768 for " Indirect Care" and 0,858 for " Positive Involvement ". It was determined that the scale's factor loadings ranged from 0,542-0,877 in the "Warmth and Harmony" sub-dimension, 0,629-0,751 in the "Control and Process Responsibility" sub-dimension, 0,615-0,854 in the "Frustration" sub-dimension, 0,678-0,886 in the "Indirect Care " sub-dimension, and 0,561-0,781 in the " Positive Involvement " sub-dimension. The scale's fit indices were determined as CMIN/DF: 1,276; AGFI: 0,865; GFI: 0,899; NFI: 0,873; CFI: 0,969; IFI: 0,970; TLI: 0,962; RMSEA: 0,040; SRMR: 0,0591. The Spearman-Brown coefficient was found to be 0,746, and the Split-Half coefficient was 0,722. No statistically significant difference was observed in the test-retest mean scores. The Paternal Involvement in Infancy Scale was determined to be a valid and reliable measurement tool for the Turkish population.
