The effect of skill and game-based exercises on the physical performance and technical skill in the adolescent male football players

Abstract (EN)
Simultaneous development of both the technical skills and the physical performance in football is important for the efficiency of the time, being utilized during the training program. Therefore this hereby study was performed in order to determine the impact of the Skill-Based and Game-Based training programs on the technical skills and physical performance and in addition to this, in order to reveal which training model is more effective. 24 male athletes was participated voluntarly in this study, whose real age and sports age averages were 15.37±0.56 years and 3.39±0.54 years respectively. The footballers were divided into two groups; which are the Skill Group (BG, n=12) and Game Group (OG, n=12) In order to determine the physical performance and the technical skills of the athletes, tests were conducted five days before and after the training program. The first three days of this period included physical performance related tests and the fourth day contained technical skill tests. In the study, in order to improve the technical skills and physical performance characteristics of the football players, tests such as flexibility, balance, standing long jump, vertical jump, speed, agility, explosive power, aerobic and anaerobic capacity in line of physical performance and tests such as dribbling, pull shot, passing, shooting and quickly rust wall in line of technical skill tests were performed. After this phase, the athletes participated to a eight week training program. After the training program, while all of the improvements of the BG over the physical performance characteristics, were revealed to be significant (p<0.05) the improvements in OG were found to be insignificant. When the technical skills were evaluated, the improvements in quickly rust wall application; passing and shooting skills were found to be significant in both groups. (p<0.05). In addition to this, while statistically significant differences were found in BG in relation to dribbling and pull shot attributes (p<0.05), such differences were insignificant in OG. When the values, in percentage of the differences that occurred between the groups before and after the training sessions were compared with each other, the physical performance improvement ratios of the BG were much significant, than those of OG. (p<0.05) Finally, when the ratios of the differences, occurred in the technical skill improvement between the groups were compared, shooting, dribbling and pull shot were more significant than OG. (p<0.05). The differences between the passing and quickly rust wall were found to be insignificant.This study showed that the impact of the Skill Based Training on the physical performance and technical skills is more significant than Game-Based Training.Keywords1.
