Comparison of physical education teachers' leadership types and communication skills with art and music teachers

The purpose of this study is to compare the leadership types and communication skills of physical education teachers with art and music teachers. The sample of the study consists of 56 physical education, 67 art and 58 music teachers working in Ağrı province during the 2024-2025 academic year. In the selection process of the participants, the random stratified sampling method was preferred. This method is used in cases where there are important factors that may affect the research problem and there are sub-strata or sub-groups in a universe with defined boundaries (Büyüköztürk, Çakmak, Akgün, Karadeniz and Demirel, 2008). For this reason, teachers were stratified on the "branch" variable. Since the small number of art and music teachers would make it difficult to analyze these variables, the sample size was determined proportionally. The sample size was kept large in order to prevent possible data loss such as scale filling or underfilling. Within the scope of the study, data were collected using the Personal Information Form, In-Class Leadership Scale and Communication Skills Assessment Scale. The In-Class Leadership Scale was developed by Eriş, and the Communication Skills Assessment Scale was developed by Korkut. In the research process, data was collected from a total of 181 teachers and no data loss occurred in either scale. The obtained data was transferred to the SPSS program and evaluated with statistical analyses. The data obtained with the personal information form was presented with frequency and percentage rates. According to the research findings, there was no significant difference between the in-class leadership types of art, music and physical education teachers according to the branch. In addition, it was determined that there was no significant difference between the communication skills of these teachers.
