Abstract (EN)

This study aims to determine the usage level of MRS of teacher candidates and their dominant intelligence type, and investigate the level of relationship between them. It has been conducted based on the screening method and using singular and relational techniques. The study universe consists of 120 undergraduate students studying at the Department of Physical Education and Sports Teaching at Eskişehir Technical University. "MIS" and " MRSQ" have been used as data collection tools. The data analysis has been done using arithmetic mean, standard deviation, frequency and percentage as well as chi-square, t-test and ANOVA. The "Scheffe" test has been used to identify the source of the significant difference between the groups. And a correlation analysis has been made to determine the relationship between MI levels and MRS. The findings showed bodily intelligence was the most dominant type. No significant difference has been found between MI and gender, age, grade level, GPA, and the educational background of the student's parents. The students' level of using MRS has been found as "I use it often". A significant difference has been found between MRS and gender and grade levels. Though a positive significant relationship has been found between analytical strategies and existential intelligence, their relationship with visual intelligence has been found to be negative. And the relationship between pragmatic strategies and existential intelligence has been found to be positive and significant. Keywords: Multiple intelligence, Metacognitive reading strategies, Physical education and sports.
