Examination of communication and problem solving skills of physical education and sports teachers

The purpose of this research was to examine the relationship between physical education and sports teachers' communication and problem-solving skills. A total of 700 physical education and sports teachers. 239 women and 461 men. who work in public and private schools. participated in the research voluntarily. "Communication Scales" and "Heppner Adult Form" adapted by Korkut Owen Demirbaş-Çelik (2017) to communicate with the "Personal Information Form" by everyone to be designed as a data collection tool in the research. and finally for the children with the problem. and Petersen (1982) and Şahin and Heppner (1993) used the "Problem Solving Inventory". In the analysis of the data. first of all, descriptive frequency (n), percentage (%), arithmetic mean ( ) and standard deviation (ss) were used to determine the personal characteristics of the participants. In the analysis of the data. Skewness and Kurtosis normality distribution tests were used to determine the communication skill levels and the scores obtained from the problem solving skill levels, T-Test and One Way Anova tests were used for the normal distribution, and the post-hoc Scheffe test was used to determine the difference between the groups. Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal Wallis tests were used for non-normal distributions, and the Hypothesis Test Summary Test was used to determine the differences between groups. In order to reveal the relationship between them, the Multi-Directional Pearson Product Moment Correlation Analysis test was used. As a result of the research. it was determined that there was an inverse relationship between communication levels and hasty approach. which is one of the problem solving scale sub-dimensions. and there was a similar relationship between the variables in all other communication levels and problem solving scale sub-dimensions. In addition. it can be said that as the communication skills of physical education and sports teachers increase, their problem-solving skills also increase.
