Investigation of the effect of organizational trust perceptions of physi̇cal educati̇on and sports teachers on thei̇r organizational commi̇tment

This study aims to examine the effect of organizational trust perceptions of physical education and sports teachers, working in educational organizations, on their organizational commitment. The research was conducted in the 2022-2023 academic year with 152 physical education teachers working in public schools in the central and other districts of Erzincan province affiliated to the Ministry of National Education. In the study, the relationship between organizational trust and organizational commitment was examined. Research and measurement method based on quantitative data was used in the study. In the collection of the data, the demographic information form created by the researcher, the 8-question organizational trust perception scale was used which is created as combination of 4 statements developed by Schoorman et al. to measure the trust of employers against their managers and 4 statements developed by Nyhan and Marlow to measure trust against organization. In order to measure the organizational commitment of the participants, the 9-question organizational commitment scale developed by Mowday et al. was used. SPSS package program was used to analyze the collected data. As a result of the data analysis, it was determined that organizational trust positively affects organizational commitment. In order to investigate whether the demographic characteristics have significant effect on the organizational trust and organizational commitment, "t test", ANOVA (analysis of variance) was used. According to the results of the research, while a strong positive relationship is found between organizational trust and organizational commitment, it is determined that organizational trust and organizational commitment of physical education and sports teachers do not differ according to demographic variables.
