An investigation of the relationship between the excitation levels of physical education and sports teachers and their teaching motivation

In this study, it was aimed to examine the relationship between physical education and sports teachers' burnout levels and their motivation to teach in terms of various variables (gender, age, marital status, length of professional service, family income status, type of school and place of work).A total of 209 teachers who voluntarily participated in the study were reached. "Maslach Teacher Burnout Inventory", "Teaching Motivation Scale" and "Personal Information Form" created by the counsellor and the researcher were applied to the teachers who participated voluntarily. In this study, relational survey model, which is one of the quantitative research methods, was used. SPSS 24.4 programme was used in the analysis of the data obtained. Skewness and Kurtosis values were examined in the normality distribution of scale and sub-dimension scores. It was accepted that the data showed normal distribution. Two sample t-test was applied for two independent variables and one-way analysis of variance (OneWay ANOVA) test was applied for the comparison of more than two variables. In case of a significant difference between the groups, Post Hoc (Tukey) test was used to determine the difference between the groups in the ANOVA test.In the study, a significant difference was observed in the intrinsic motivation sub-dimension in favour of teachers working in high schools according to school type. In the emotional exhaustion sub-dimension, it was determined that there was a significant difference according to the age variable, professional service duration and family income status.
