Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to examine the effects of body percussion exercises on auditory and visual reaction. In the study, the weak group quasi-experimental research method, which is one of the semi-experimental research methods, was adopted. A total of 52 students studying at Ağrı İbrahim Çeçen University, Faculty of Sports Sciences, Department of Coaching Education participated in the research. Body percussion activities within the scope of extracurricular activities were applied to the research group once a week for 60 minutes, for 8 weeks. Before the application, the visual and auditory reaction levels of the students were measured (pre-test), and after the application, the same measurements were made and the pre-test and post-test scores of the research group were statistically compared. Newtset 1000 reaction measuring device was used for pre-test and post-test measurements. IBM SPSS 24 package program was used for the analysis of the data obtained, and the differences between the two groups were evaluated. Similarly, paired samples t test and Wilcoxon T test were used in the analysis of dependent variables. Levene Homogeneity test was used in tests where the variables were homogeneously distributed. As a result of the research, it was seen that body percussion activities had a significant positive effect on visual and auditory reaction. From this point of view, it is predicted that body music activities will play an active role in the development of all sports branches that require reaction, and it is thought to be a method that can be used actively in many reaction studies.
