Abstract (EN)

Behcet's disease (BD) is defined as autoimmune, recurrent and multisystemic vasculitis. D vitamins play a role as immunomodulators in the immunesystem. Therefore, some autoimmune diseases have reported D vitamin deficiency. Turkey has the highest prevalence of BH in the world. The aim of this study was to compare the CRP and 25-OH Vitamin D Levels of Behçet's disease and healthy individuals and to determine the relationship between these parameters and Behçet's disease and disease activity. A total of 114 patients were enrolled in the study, consisting of a 64-patient group admitted to the Dermatology and Physical Therapy out patient clinic of Adıyaman University Training and Research Hospital and a control group of 50 patients. For all participants, C-reactive protein, and vitamin D levels were studied in Adıyaman University Hospitals Central Laboratores. Plasma 25-hydroxvitamin D [25 (OH) D3] levels were measured to determine vitamin D levels. Plasma 25 (OH) D3 levels were determined by high performance liquid chromatography / HPLC. The patient and control groups were 0.74 ± 0.84 (mg / dl) while the control group mean was 0.45 ± 0.42 (mg / dl). There was no significant difference in CRP levels between the two groups (p = 0.28). The mean levels of 25-OH vitamin D3 in patients and control groups were 19.3 ± 7.7 (ng / ml). The two groups (ng / ml) were found to be 14.2 ± 6.7 (ng / ml). . 25-OH Vitamin D Levels. (p = 0,001) There was no statistically significant difference between the CRP levels and age groups during the Pearson Correlation Test (p = 0,719).As a result, 25-OH Vitamin D and CRP Levels were found to be higher in Behçet's patients than the control group, while 25-OH Vitamin D levels showed no significant difference in CRP Levels. Inconclusion, mean 25-OH Vitamin D3 and mean CRP levels were found higher in Behçet's patients than in the control group and it was found that there was a statistically significant difference in 25-OH Vitamin D levels in terms of CRP levels, although this difference was not statistically significant. As a result, there was no significant difference between CRP levels and 25-OH vitamin D3 levels in Behçet's patients. Mean 25-OH vitamin D3 and mean CRP levels were found to be higher in patients with Behçet's disease than in the control group. Although the difference was not statistically significant in terms of CRP levels, 25-OH vitamin D levels were found to be statistically significant.
