Example of employee satisfaction Gebze Municipality municipalities

At the present time the world is changing and improving and as a result of that given importance is increasing to the local government. Traditional personal management could not enough for today's requests. Therefore traditional personal management has to change its form and content into as new notion management of human resources. Increased globalization and competition, structural change in the workforce, changes in management and production models are just a few of the many factors that accelerate the transition to a human resource management approach (Kaynak, 1996:16). More than half of Turkey's population lives in regions that are considered as cities.The municipalities, one of the most important structures of local government, are those organizations in which public participation of the people can be best represented. The municipalities therefore have strategic priorities. The ability of municipalities to carry out the services expected of them depends on the quality of the human resource that they operate. In this study; the concept of local government in the first chapter, definition and employee satisfaction, planning and selection of human resources, development of training, evaluation of performance, career planning, wage management, worker health and work security, functions of human resources management; in the second part, general information, municipality also about human resources management and functioning of the municipalities was given. In the section, a questionnaire was applied to the employees of Gebze Municipality to evaluate the effectiveness of the human resources functions in the institution effectively and efficiently and to evaluate the effects of employee satisfaction.
