Özet (EN)

The aim of this study is to describe the dynamic-oriented Brief Intensive Emergency Psychotherapy (B.E.P.) procedure and to examine its effectiveness in resolving the problems of emerging adults experiencing career anxiety. In the research, the B.E.P. process conducted with two emerging adults experiencing career anxiety was handled with a case study design. The data of the study were collected through quantitative measurement tools consisting of the SCL-90-R, Hacettepe Personality Inventory (HPI), Beier Sentence Completion Test, Career Stress Scale, and Future Anxiety Scale, as well as qualitative data sources consisting of session video recordings, transcription texts, and client diaries. The application process was analyzed by supporting it with pre-test, post-test, and follow-up measurements. Research findings revealed that the B.E.P. intervention significantly reduced the clients' career anxiety and future stress levels, while increasing their personal and social adjustment levels. Furthermore, qualitative analyses showed that the clients' ego functionality was strengthened, they gained insight, and developed a more flexible and realistic attitude towards career decisions. It is thought that the findings of this study will contribute to intervention programs for mental health professionals, especially university psychological counseling and career center employees, and emerging adults experiencing career anxiety.
