Abstract (EN)

In this study, usability of aggregate type (basalt-limestone) and steel-fiber in the production of concrete traverse was investigated. In the study, basalt and calcareous aggregates with sized of 16 mm, 22 mm and 31.5 mm were selected, also steel fibers in ratio of 0%, 0.2% and 0.4% were used by volume. Totally 18 different series were produced. For each series, cement content and water to cement ratio was kept as 450 kg/m3 and 0.25, respectively. From B.58 concrete traverse and cube series (20x20x20 cm), totally 36 and 72 specimens were exposed to steam cure, respectively. The flexural strength and ultrasonic pulse velocity was defined on the B.58 concrete traverse; however, compressive strength, unit weight, ultrasonic pulse velocity, freeze-thaw resistance and water absorption tests were applied for 1 and 28 aged specimens on the cube series. The obtained results were compared with control specimens, and they were discussed. According to obtained results, it was observed that the flexural strength of concrete traverse with basalt aggregate was increased by addition of steel fiber. On the other hand, it was noted that concrete traverse with basalt aggregate has better properties than that of with limestone aggregate. Moreover, all the series have acceptable values for 28 days compressive and flexure strength as Dywidag norms.
