The investigation of the mechanical properties of chemically bonded post-installed in concrete under axial tension effects

The majority of constructions of buildings in Turkey have not presented good performance after occurred earthquakes in the last decades. These structure buildings should be evaluated in terms of seismic safety and having insufficient seismic safety buildings have to retrofit. The retrofitting of structural system and structural elements has to use chemical anchors for integrating the existing reinforced concrete elements with the new elements. Chemical anchors have high adhesion strength, to be applied easily and quickly, effectively and strengthen the work of the applicability of security provided. The chemically bonded anchors post-installed in concrete exposed to load effects occurred the bending moments, axial and shear forces in retrofitting of concrete elements. Thus, it is important that the mechanical properties of chemical anchors should be investigated the behavior under bending moments, axial and shear forces. In this study, the mechanical properties of chemically bonded anchors post-installed in concrete determined under the axial tension effect on the concrete elements. These results compared with the mechanical anchors have been placed during concreting. According to the study results, if the chemical anchors used enough diameters and enough depth, they acted better effective than mechanical anchors.
