Abstract (EN)
In this study, adult education-development activities in enterprises are examined. Adult education is defined as the process designed to solve the problems of people who have completed the first period of continuous education and to make them adapt to the changing conditions. In this process, people are expected to be responsible for their own education and beware of their self-identity. In this context, the purpose of this study is to examine the education-development activities of enterprises and to analyze whether adult education theory named andragogy assumptions theory is applied. Qualitative research method was used within the purpose of the study and the data were obtained from semi-structured interview and secondary data sources. Easy sampling method was preferred in the semi-structured interviews and interviews were conducted with the people responsible for the education and development activities of 5 institutions. The selected institutions are broiler companies in the Eastern Marmara Region. Secondary data sources are institutional documents. Data were evaluated by content analysis. As a result of the findings, it was seen that this process, named as the education cycle, was not carried out according to andragogy assumptions theory in the interviewed institutions. It was determined that the main reasons that prevented this were the situation of the sector and the employees. Finally, recommendations were made for the institutions in the context of adult education and development. Keywords: Change, Education and development, Adult education, Andragogy
