Abstract (EN)
Tooth decay is one of the most common problems in children and young adults. In our study, considering the dynamics of the white spot lesions, it was aimed to find the most ideal material that can be used to stop the progression of decalcification on the lesion surface, to provide remineralization and aesthetics. 90 cases between the ages of 12-17 with white spot lesions were included in the study. Filled and decayed teeth were excluded. It was divided into groups of 15 people each. Then, the teeth were cleaned and plaque was removed. Initial data were measured using ICDAS II, DIAGNOdent and Spectrophotometer. Treatments were applied using in addition to standard daily brushing Icon Rezin Infiltration method in Group 1, R.O.C.S. Medical Mineral Gel in Group 2, GC Toothmousse Gel in Group 3, GC MI Paste Plus Gel in Group 4, and Fluor Protector Varnish in Group 5. Group 6 was designated as the control group and they only brushed their teeth 2 times a day with 1450 ppm fluorinated standard toothpaste. Then, 1 week, 1 month and 3 month datas of the cases were measured by the ICDAS criteria, DIAGNOdent and Spectrophotometer. In our study; According to ICDAS II data, there was a statistically significant difference between the T0 and T1, T2, T3 ICDAS II values of the patients in Group 1 (p<0.001). A significant time-dependent decrease was observed in the DIAGNOdent values of all groups except the control group (p<0.01). As a result of comparison between groups; DIAGNOdent values of all groups were found to be statistically significantly higher than Group 1 in T1, T2 and T3 (p<0.01). As a result of evaluation of spectrophotometer data; it was determined that the ΔE3 color change values of all groups were statistically significantly lower than Group 1 (p<0.001). When the data obtained are evaluated; it was concluded that Icon Rezin Infiltration method treated white spot lesions in a shorter time and more successfully than other treatment methods used. However, it was concluded that more studies should be conducted on remineralization agents used to stop the progression of decalcification on the white spot lesions, return them and provide aesthetics.
