Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted in drought condition to determine the effects of mow frequency, height and number of mowing to yield an quality of Sorgum-Sudan Grass Grazer variety. The trial was established in Karacabey Agricultural Management in Bursa west of Anatolia with split split plot experiment. The highest green and hay yield were obtained from 60 cm mow frequency (751.63 kg/da and 188.63 kg/da), 30 cm mow height (685.67 kg/da and 170.93 kg/da) and second number of mowing (1275.97 kg/da and 301.66 kg/da) respectively. Although effect of mow frequency and mow height on ADF and NDF ratio were not significant, however, effect of number of mowing on NDF ratio was significant. The highest NDF ratio was determined in second ( % 58.84) and fifth (% 60.07) number of mowing. The effect of application on the crude protein ratio was only significant at the number of mowing. The highest crude protein ratio was determined from first number of mowing (%12.08). The effects of mow frequency and number of mow on crude protein yield were found insignificant. The highest crude protein yields were found in 60 cm mow frequency (21.37 kg/da) and second number of mowing (33.63 kg/da). It was concluded that the highest yield and quality can be obtained in case of 30 cm mow height of sorgum x sudanotu Grazer variety after reach at 60 cm height. According to this results, Grazer variety of sorgum x sudanotu which reaches 60 cm height have low HCN content does not cause to poisoning by grazing.
