Abstract (EN)
The amount of keratinized mucosa at the surrounding of dental implants is a veryimportant criteria for the continuity of the healthy structure of soft tissues around theimplant. In the previous studies it was evaluated for 1-stage implant systems and 2-stageimplant systems by measuring the amount of keratinized mukosa around the implant.In this study, The Bicortical® Screw Implants which are manufactured byORALTRONICS were applied in two different cases, firstly to the recovered jawbonewithout removing any flap and as immediate to the extraction cavity following theextraction of the tooth and the results were evaluated by measuring the verticaldimension of keratinized mucosa at the vestibular side of these implants.Measurements were taken from the midline at the vestibular side of the implantswhich were applied to the recovered jawbone without removing any flap and also bothmidline at the vestibular side and area of papils at the vestibular side for three times asbefore the operation, right after the operation and 3 months after the operation. Resultswere evaluated by comparing with firstly within each group and then between thegroups and at last with the results that were obtained in previous operations.The study consists of 26 patients of 4 men and 22 women who are healthy anddo not smoke and 46 implants were applied to different jaw areas of these patients. For20 of them, implants were applied to the recovered jawbone without removing any flapand for 26 of the patients it was applied as immediate.The results that were obtained by comparing the measurements before theoperation and right after the operation seemed important to give an idea. However,when the measurements of right after the operation and 3 months after the operationwere compared, it was obtained that the vertical dimension of keratinized mucosa in themidline area at the vestibular side of the implants that were applied to the recoveredjawbone decreased approximately 1,77 mm. The same evaluations were carried out inimmediate implants for the midline area and papil areas respectively and approximatelya 0,58 mm. of decrease in midline areas and 0,07 mm. of decrease in papil areas wereobtained.When these results were compared with the studies that investigated different 1-stage implant systems or 2-stage implant systems, it was obtained that The Bicortical®Screw Implants that were applied as immediate caused a lesser keratinized mucosa lossboth in midline and papil areas. On the other hand, when the results for implants thatwere applied to the recovered jawbone were compared to the previous studies, it wasdetermined that keratinized mucosa loss was less.Evaluating all these measurements gives the following result:Whether the implant is inserted in immediate implantation or the recovered bonetissue, it?s important to wait for three months to get the final healing of the soft tissuebefore making the final crown-bridge prosthesis.Key words: keratinized mukosa, screw type implants, temporary loading, permanentloading
