Abstract (EN)
Hops (Humulus lupuslus) is a perennial, climbing pleasure plant from the Cannabinaceae family, known to be used in beer and bread making, medicine and cosmetics industry. In Turkey, it is cultivated only in Bilecik/Pazaryeri. Today, the amount of hops needed is more than what we produce, and we import approximately 60% of it. Our aim in this study is to isolate and examine members of the Fusarium genus in the soil where hops are grown and in the plant itself. The supply of soil and plant samples was carried out twice, in September 2022 and August 2023. Selective Fusarium Agar + Rose Bengal and Spezieller Nahrstoffarmer Agar were used in the isolation process. Soil samples were diluted by dilution process, and plant samples were directly inoculated and tested. When the obtained genus members were identified considering their macroscopic and microscopic features, it was determined that 98 isolates belonged to 13 species. Of the 98 isolates examined within the scope of the study, 26 (26.53%) were found to belong to F. oxysporum, 15 (15.31%) to F. equiseti and 14 (14.29%) to F. poae. This was followed by F. solani with 12 (12.24%) and F. concolor with 10 (10.20%). Other recorded species, F.culmorum, F.moniliforme, F.camptoceras, F.avenaceum, F. discolor and F. graminearum were determined in the range of 2-4 (2.04-4.08%), respectively. As a result of our study, Fusarium ramigenum and Fusarium camptoceras species were identified as new records for our country.
