Abstract (EN)

The aim of the research is determining the effects of exchange of information on economic security. In order to achieve this goal, document analysis was used as the data collection method. Economic security can be defined as the defense of a country's efforts to maintain its existence and increase its welfare against economic risks and threats and making advance plans for this purpose. One of the main elements of the necessity for tax administrations to cooperate with each other to protect their tax bases is the exchange of information. There are recent developments in the exchange of information, especially at the international level. However, there may be some limitations to the exchange of information. In this research, firstly, the concept of geoeconomics, the scope of economic security, its theoretical origins, developments that may affect economic security are discussed. Detailed issues on exchange of information in tax matters are discussed. The effects of exchange of information on economic security are evaluated in terms of Türkiye. The issue is explained on the basis of the factors affecting economic security in Türkiye. It is concluded that exchange of information may have effects on economic security in terms of protection of taxpayer rights, security of economic data, personal data and economic policies.
