Investigation of the impact of information technologies on supply chain integration and firm performance: The case of Afyonkarahisar

In the face of the rapidly changing environment, businesses have to follow technological developments closely, invest in information technologies, remain innovative, adopt a holistic and collaborative approach which includes suppliers and customers, and improve their ability to use the information available in the global network in order to compete in global markets. Thanks to effective information sharing, businesses can provide more optimization in their supply chain processes by acting more coordinated both internally and with their customers and suppliers. It is believed that businesses that successfully integrate their supply chain with the help of the right information technologies will increase their performance as they can manage their business processes more efficiently. In this context, the relationships between information technologies, supply chain integration and company performance have been investigated in this study. For the analysis, data were collected by survey method from 92 marble companies operating in Afyonkarahisar province. IBM SPSS Statistics 26 package program was used for the analysis of the obtained data. Validity and reliability analyses of the survey questions were performed and t-test, analysis of variance (one-way anova), correlation analysis and regression analysis were applied for hypothesis testing. According to the results of the analysis, it has been concluded that information technologies have a positive and significant effect on supply chain integration and firm performance, also supply chain integration has a positive and significant effect on firm performance.
